[vc_row el_class=”aboutme_content”][vc_column width=”2/3″][vc_cta h2=”The History of St Martin’s Convent” color=”sandy-brown”]St Martin’s Convent School was opened by the Dominican Sisters in 1962. It is situated at corner St Barbra and Seke road in the St Martin’s Surburb. It is a one streamed school offering education from ECD up to grade 7 in the tradition of St Dominic. The Dominican Sisters are the Responsible Authorities. We lay great emphasis on our Catholic Faith underlining such values as VERITAS (truth), justice, mercy, forgiveness and love. We aim to provide high quality education and meet individual needs to the best of our ability. Over the past years we have continued to excel both in academic and co-curricular activities.

The sporting activities that we offer are cricket, hockey, volleyball, tennis, Basketball, netball, soccer and swimming. We also offer music and our pupils participate in choral, percussion, Traditional Dance, Marimba and Mbira competitions. This year our Mbira team came first in the Mbira festival competitions which were held on the 24th of September 2016. This was very significant because our pupils beat secondary schools and colleges. We received a floating trophy and this was the first time that the festival introduced a trophy in a competitive category.

We received awards for the best ECD model centre at District level for three consecutive years i.e 2011 to 2013. This year 2016, we received the same award but at Provincial level. For swimming and Basketball we receive the first prize awards every year.[/vc_cta][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″][td_block_1 custom_title=”Newsletter ” tdc_css=””][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_text_separator title=”Our Grade seven percentage pass rate for the past five years are as follows:” color=”orange” border_width=”4″][vc_single_image image=”9″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][/vc_column][/vc_row]
